    Hi Folks

Here's the list of subjects put forward for discussion for October.
In the event of a tie I'll use my moderator's vote to decide which one wins.
There is only 1 vote per member so please don't go voting for more than 1 topic.

Please could those interested submit their votes by 11pm GMT Sunday 3rd October.

I will not be forwarding the vote posts to the list but will post the final results around midnight
(GMT) on Sunday 3rd October so don't get worried that your post hasn't made it. I
shall show all the voters on the CALL FOR VOTES final results so if you don't see your name
    on it email me then.

The topic that is not used will be added to a page of potential topics which can be re-
used at a later date if you so desire.

On a related note could all those who use HTML email please turn off HTML in their email tools
as it just produces a load of garbage when I receive it as moderator. HTML emails will be returned
    for resubmission without the HTML

Please note that the URL supplied by Glenn doesn't appear to work. I'll post the correct
one as soon as I get it.

Anyway, I think I've covered everything so here's the list of topics on which to vote.

    #1 From Sam Norton
"Is 'subject-object metaphysics' just another word for Cartesianism? If not, is there
another description of it that might be recognised by the academic community?"

[I'm interested in exploring for connections between the MoQ and present day
academia, to try and break out of our ghetto. NB I will return to the language question; I
    think it got raised prematurely].

    #2 From Glenn Bradford
One page (URL below) of the Pirsig recommended 'Evil Genius' website has a number
of bulleted sentences that summarize the metaphorically diseased (according to Lavery)
worldview Descartes bestowed upon us. Which of the bullet points does the MOQ
subscribe to, and which does it not?
