Random Thoughts......The Hippies weren't "bad" - but much of what they
believed had low quality - so it's gone (at least the parts that were
low quality). Hitler's "Final Solution" had low quality - it's gone.
Etc, Etc, Etc.
How do we know what has high quality? Well, we aren't all-knowing,
so how can we truly KNOW if a thing has higher quality? I think "it's
all good" and that which is "better" will only be known because it
survives.
And now I go a little off the beaten path (no pun intended - see
title below)-But I'm hoping for some MOQ insights on the following:
Was reading from "The Road Less Travelled" (M. Scott Peck) and a
section caught my brain (I lent it out since then so, can';t look it
up) - he was discussing mysticism. He stated that mysticism basically
believes that "all is one" and that any belief that things are not one
is not real. That children are at this stage before they are able to
distinguish between themselves and others. Then they "get" that they
are seperate from others. (or are they 'deluded' into believing they
are seperate?) This brought to mind many things. One is the
reference that Christ was to have said that unless people become "like
children" they can not enter the Kingdon of Heaven. Could it be that
he meant our job is to get in touch (again) with that sense that we
are all one (everything is all one) (the mystics journey)? I remember
Pirsig talking about this in ZAMM (when he was looking for the first
"split") (or was it Lila?)
Well...that's about all for now....y'all have a great new year!
Shalom
