Oh Yeah? Sez who?
Mathew, you make it sound as if there is something called 'Reality' which you can step
outside, wander around, poke a bit, give it a bit of a polish in the mucky places then get
back inside again. Reality isn't an automobile any more than it is an objective, observeable
'thing'. Reality IS. We are created by reality as much as we create it and there are as many
versions of it as there are participants. And the term participants includes but is not limited
to humans.
I'd always thought the idea of Many Truths was a fairly simple concept, but, considering the
differences in explanations, apparently it isn't. Although this may be a good example of the
'truth' of the concept. :)
Reality and truth would appear to have some similarities - neither one is absolute, both are
contingent. Both exist in relation to the participants and have areas of overlap called
agreement.
"Bill Clinton is president of the USA"
If this is an example of non-contingent absolute truth/reality then it must be as accurate as a
statement in one hundred years as it is now - which is obviously not the case. This doesn't
stop it being real, true or accurate NOW. It is part of a dynamic reality which provides for
many truths - all of which are contingent.
Another thing that seems to be creeping in at the moment with some members is the re-
emergence of objectivity and subjectivity. Er.... excuse me? I was under the impression that
MoQ undermines S/O as a primary view.
