what proceeded the inorganic level was not chaos, but order, absolute order.
Indeed, this seems to be supported be science. The entropy before the big
bang was actually zero. There was no chaos at all. All matter and energy
was contained within an infinitesimal space.
What's even better, though, is that when we alter this basic assumption,
everything else falls into place. The creation of inorganic order out of
what we can call primordial order is not a victory over Dynamic Quality at
all. It's the very first victory OF Dynamic Quality! "
RICK:
I like this conceptualization of a Primordial Order that proceeds the
Inorganic. It makes me wonder if that first moral code shouldn't "establish
the supremecy of the Inorganic over the Primodial (as opposed to the
chaotic). But best of all....
ROGER:
"Physicist Paul Davies defines nonrandom as a
number or pattern that can be generated or defined in fewer bits than the
number or pattern itself."
and
MATT:
The level of absolute
order in reality went down (as it does at the development of each new
stage), but the QUALITY of that order went up. My take on the whole issue
of Dynamic Quality is that, quantitatively, it decreases order, but
qualitatively, it increases it."
RICK:
Wow... these two bits seem to hang together very well. Before the "big
bang" we have a "primordial singularity"--- that is, a number or pattern
that can be generated or defined in fewer bits than any other. The closer
we stay to it the more easily we can define things quantitatively--- the
inorganic is easier to define this way than biological--- the intellectual
is the most difficult to describe this way. And the reverse is true of the
Qualitative.... (Or something like that, right?).
MATT:
"I once heard a physicist
describe the pre-big bang universe as an infinitely tiny spot of perfect
symmetry, and then that symmetry was tipped off balance - BANG! It all
started to unfold; time, space, matter and energy all emerged out of a
primordial singularity, the ultimate black hole. When asked what tipped that
perfect balance, with an Indian accent, he said "I don't know. God got
bored."
RICK:
I guess for MoQ purposes we might as well change this last part to read....
Good got bored.
Satisfied for the moment,
Rick
