interesting.....how vs. why. in the acting technique i use, we don't
get into "why" (i.e. why the character does what they do, etc) We only
look at how ("why" is "because the playwright said so".) An amazing
thing happen when you focus on the "how" - they "why" shows up. If an
actor slowly and with conviction does something, a mood or psychology
shows up and we have the "why"

I've come to believe the "why" is not nearly as important as the
"how"
(at least with my acting) :o)
