Hi everyone,
I'm sorry, but it seems to be almost impossible to shape a drawing like this by
means of the keyboards typeset. Looks as if I had not used the 'tab'-keyin the
right way. Can anybody tell me, how it could be done?
In words: It shows Information as the function of time
func(t):= Info(time)
The information-graph is strictly proportional; i.e. it starts down left in the
origin and devides the space between abscissa and ordinate (?) in equal angles.
The triangel, which covers the area between abscissa and info-graph is filled
with continious lines, being parallel to the abscissa. Each area between the
borderlines of the layers represents a step of (additional) information. Above
the 'intelligence'-layer non-continious line, which is meant to symbolize man's
'limits', there is only one layer above the 'intelligence'-layer, that it's the
AI-layer (Artificial intelligence). My lecturer used to call, what's even higher
than AI, of which we do not know what it could be like, the first step of
transcendence. There are also dashed lines(*) being almost parallel to the
ordinate.
Here once again the description, just a rough translation, I'm not quite sure if
anybody understands, just tell me! I think it's interesting! The word 'quality'
is also used in the german text. I personal don't agree to the assignment of the
AI-layer. However I do see similarities to Pirsig's 'level'-definition. The
seems to show (IMHO) that there is more than one possibility, to describe the
'area'/distance between us (man) and the far down end.

Greetings to all,
JoVo
PS.:About the book I mentioned: (Hans-Christian von Baeyer, 'Taming the atom:
The Emerging of the Visible Microworld ' first published in USA in '92 ).
A good introduction to everyone (just like me), who just want to get a rough
description, what's this all about. Also connected to arts and aesthetics; more
than once von Baeyer talks about a 'platypus'. Sometimes I had the feeling, that
von Baeyer was influenced also by Pirsig. But I guess this is one more example
of 'subjective' reading! ;-)
