"I can't tell you how amazing its been since leaving the
discussion forums. Maybe you'll pass on the good news and
let the MOQers know that I've not left Pirsig behind. I'm
writing a screenplay that not only incorporates the MOQ,
but the hero is a little like Pirsig, the villain is like
Richard Rigel, only more powerful, and their struggle
represents the dance between sq and DQ, preservation and
creativity. There's alot of Orpheus in it, the original
underground artist, the archetypal contrarian. This
screenplay allows me to fuse all the stuff I love most,
metaphysics, mysticism, mythology and movies. The hero is a
singer/songwriter, among other things, so it includes
the kind of music I love too.
And the whole process is like some kind of weird magic. I
mean, the actual quality of the finished product remains to
be seen, but it sure feels like the muses are pouring
treasure down upon me everyday. Its like I'm channeling
dead poets, except I don't believe in that shit."
