<< You may say indeed, those social and intellectual patterns are no longer
real, and yes there is a hole where we used to be. And yes, perhaps that is
what drives males more so than females.
One of the reasons why males pursue offspring is just that_leaving something
(biological) behind where they will be remerbered by. Females on the
other hand pursue a more decent offspring, that is_males can produce
offspring all their lives, females have to choose more carefully their
partners,
that is the time needed ( 9 months) is a waste of time if the fellow moves
out.
Females choose their partners in that way, they have to be strong,
intelligent,
symmetrical, status is important, a honest face, a little bit of womanizing
would be perfect...
But, in my opinion, in contrast with that biological urge, there will be
social
and intellectual patterns of value which stay real, but, for far I know,
noone did ever searched for them.
Those patterns are part of what I have called the MEMETIC MAXIM,
a Memetic starter- set which we probably inherited from our parents.
Those, what I coin here, EPI-MEMETIC RULES are those patterns of
Value which f. e the father will give to his offspring, that are those
patterns
of Value which in a later stage of life manifest themselves as those rules
by which the human will live and where upon he will built his personality
and
identity.
( For Jonathan, in here we find those LAMARCKIAN patterns where I talked you
about in previous posts)
Of course, those will be than already be enforced by social rules of the
society wherein the child ( and the father) resides.
To conclude, I see no reason why to doubt social and intellectual patterns
of Value won 't stay real. Of course, there is a twist and turn here, there
is a hole where we used to be, but in a way that is " re- filled " ( partly
?)
( that is 50 % of the father, 50 % of the mother !?) by the knowledge we
give our children something quite real from ourselves.
That is, a memetical starter- set, that are things we strongly believed
in...

Kenneth
