Hello, ladies and gentlemen !
I joined this list fairly recently, just a couple of weeks ago. Before now I
didn't have a chance to properly introduce myself.
I guess the most important and relevant thing about me is that I _did_ in
fact read both "ZAMM" and "Lila." Both were most fascinating books I ever
read. I have to note that I read ZAMM while on a solo bicycle tour across
New York State in May 2000. This solo trip combined with reading ZAMM turned
me into a completely different person.
You can see my travelogue at http://www.geocities.com/dulino/ . It is more
or less along the lines of MOQ, but it clearly shows that my understanding
of it was very rudimentary at the time.
My friends read both of these books and since then MOQ has been the main
topic of discussion at our parties.
I am very busy. My full time job is that of software developer. One night
per week I teach computer science at a city college, and the rest of my time
work on my M.S. in computer science. Pirsig's books significantly influenced
my decision to eventually go into the Ph.D. program.
Anyway... I will post more as I get time. There are lots of messages that I
came across that I'd like to respond to, but didn't get a chance... yet...
Regards,
Oleg
