The fundamental distinctions are opposites at the object level (things) and
cooperative at the relational levels (space in-between things).
As you move from rigid EITHER/OR dichotomies by applying the dichotomies
recursively so BOTH/AND state emerge from the middle of the dichotomy, from
the '/'.
Relational dichotomies emphasise statics/dynamics (see other email on maths
etc)
Furthermore, the original dichotomy is a LOCAL distinction. As you zoom-in
so you move more and more to considering NON-local distinctions.
It is the world of relationships that feedback gets involved and as such
social forces 'guide' the individual. Note the emphasis of shifting from the
ONE to the MANY. This is a NATURAL process inbuilt as part of our METHOD of
analysis and it includes confusions of scales etc since we use the SAME
method at all scales.
Triadic perspectives often reflect 'confusion' of levels where we span
levels or else stay in a level but more often then not fail to differentiate
dynamics from statics.
In this sense we often confuse the elements of a dichotomy. For example we
can use the particle/wave dichotomy but often fail to see that the dichotomy
is not of EQUAL forms but of PARTICULAR/GENERAL forms and so PARTICULAR is
more 'precise' than GENERAL etc etc
All of this is comes from the METHOD of analysis, recursive
dichotomisations, and these methods we use in MOQ....
best,
Chris
