Well, if you take the rock you just created and have it carbon-dated, you
might find that instead of being minutes old, it is millions of years old.
If the rock created just has the appearance of being millions of years
old, I'd have to ask a) how it got that way and b) why it got that way.
Maybe real reality isn't as continuous and flowing as we think.

No, we couldn't, but it's no reason to believe it, of course. It's hard to imagine why a God would want to delude you into all this false history,
rather than letting it play out like we think it does.

To Alan:
Like I said, you could measure its age to prove otherwise. You don't think
you re-create the contents of your living room every time you enter it, do
you? Or blink? It seems a very dubious practice to take the outcomes of
quantum events involving tiny particles and extrapolate this to
macroscopic chairs and sofas that go in and out of existence depending on
whether someone is looking at them.
