the thing that hits like fist on flesh tho is that people buy these things,
people are willing to spend ridiculous amounts of money for clothes with a
horse or a swoosh on them. the problem isnt with advertisers, it's with
empty people who need abercrombie and fitch to feel accepted. unless people
realize for themselves that good clothes dont validate people, the problem
won't go away. i think, like platt said, that your political theories do
resemble totalitarianism to a certain degree (orwell's ministry of plenty,
maybe?). but on the other hand i dont see any other real solution to the
problem. we need a new buddha.
