Hello Qualicists...
Part 1:
I have spent the last 2 weeks building a new static-latch for our philosophy.
It uses technology from thebrain.com. Here is the download link:
http://brainserver.thebrain.com/get.asp?i=b497f
You can also download the client software for free via this link. Or go to
www.thebrain.com and download the free PersonalBrain software. It's well worth
the time. I look forward to your comments and suggestions for future
content/improvement (please send comments up to the MD list so we can all
participate).

Part 2 - Request #1:
I expect much discussion and expansion of this latch (let's call it the
MoQ-BrainLatch, or MOQBL) in the coming and far future. The MOQBL does not yet
have a mechanism for whole lessons, nor does it hold any of the (assuredly
extant) developments since 1991 (from this list or previous list discussions).
I would like to remedy this in the near future. My first request goes out to
all current and previous list-members:
I wish to include all of the great MoQ ideas, discussions, and resolutions from
the past. Specifically, if _you_ have generated a great MoQ idea, an idea that
stands on its own and should be preserved, I want you to send that text to me.
You can include any context that you need (make sure to credit the original
authors), but try to keep the text brief. If you do this one-idea-at-a-time,
you shouldn't need more than 4 paragraphs (of course 1 is the ideal). Please
cut out all non-essential text. Make it look like the content currently present
on the MOQBL. I will review and add the text at my discretion.
How do you know your content belongs? Here are some criteria:
Does it stand -completely- alone?
Is it a likely resolution to an existing MoQ problem, or potential problem?
Was the thought generated from a state of inner peace?
If the text were part of a larger essay, is -this- the portion that a reader
would mark and copy to their notes?
If you said this to a typical person walking down the street, would they
generally nod their head, or at least stop to ponder the thought?
Obviously... Is it of high Quality?
Do you think every person should read this? Do you think every person _could_
read this and understand?
Here are some more criteria... if you answer 'yes' then your text probably
isn't ready:
Does it require knowledge of current (potentially fashionable or fad) scientific
hypotheses?
Be honest... Is it a guess?
Is there any emotion or bias buried within the text?
Are there any 'dangling threads'? Does it feel like something more is needed at
the beginning or end?
Would your ego be hurt if this were refused?
Please send the text to moq@galtenberg.net. Please don't send any questions...
if you don't understand the exercise, then study the MOQBL more. You're the
author, you know what content needs to be preserved. Please send all other
comments to the MD list for public review and discussion.
If we do this exercise once-a-year, I believe the MoQ will be a healthy and
flourishing philosophy. If we don't agree on a static-latch, I think the MoQ is
destined to fall victim to much unnecessary repetition and stagnation (like most
other philosophical discussions on the Internet).
Thank you for your attention and contributions...
Wisdom cannot be incorrect,
