Hi John B,

The server at,
http://www.consciousness.arizona.edu/hameroff/Weekly_article.htm, must have
a problem today, I can't connect. I looked a little at the paper yesterday,
but I must admit I'm probably going to struggle with the paper (was taken by
my brains built-in Ockham razor ;-).

However, I remembered a story about Niels Bohr and George Gamow from
Norrestranders book (I try to translate from Norwegian):
"His theoretical mind even showed when they where visiting the cinema
(western movies). He developed a theory why the hero always shot the bad guy
in the duels, even though the bad guy draws first. Bohr's theory was based
on psychology. The bad guy has to decide that he is going to draw, as the
hero never starts to draw. This restrain the bad guy, but the hero is acting
by reflex, and he goes for his revolver as soon as he see the bad guy's hand
move and is quicker.
Bohr and Gamow did not agree on this theory, and the next day they went to a
toyshop and bought two revolvers and western-holsters. Gamow states "We all
tried to duel against Bohr, who played the hero, and Bohr "killed" all his
students"".

My understanding of this story is: The hero is acting on reflex, which Libet
timed to 0.2-0.3 s, and the bad guy act conscious which takes approximately
0.5 s. Obviously, the bad guy used wrong tactics.

So, if this is a true observation, whatever direction quantum computation
time is running, reality is running in an understandable direction.

Regards
Gerhard
