Agreed, such compensation, if it were available, should only be one element
of rectifying the systemic ("intellectual"?) causes of the violation.
Compensation does not equal 'shutting one's mouth,' certainly, or better
yet, actually dismantling the system causes. Your point about compensation
becoming just a 'cost of doing business' is well taken. Insurance companies
try to stop this tendency by refusing to cover business risk.
