The basis for the conflict between the US and the arabic nations is, as in
any other conflict, and conflict of realities. Like Rick said, their reality
is that we are the terrorists and they are heroic holy warriors for what they
have accomplished. Our reality is that they are the evil ones and America is
a just free nation with full right to enforce its powers on other countries.
What we need is an understanding of eachother's realities. Both sides are
human, and both are hurt when innocents are killed as a result of an attack.
The dancing of those Palestinians is a horrific site because they do not
realize that the people that were killed were not representatives of the
actions of America. They were just common folks disinterested in global
politics. They too did not realize that innocents were killed when Amarican
forces bombed Arabic nations.
Where does quality fit into this? America is a free nation that encourages
choice. The ability to choose gives the individual a high-quality reality.
As Phaedrus said, improving this world begins in the individual. If each of
us are more understanding of those around us, if we are more concerned for
what happens to our fellow man and no longer oblivious to what goes on in the
political world then on a global scale, peace will result.
