Thanks for the more eloquent and measured reinforcements to my admittedly
overly emotional response to Ed and Squonk.

I continue to be amazed that any casual student of politics, economics, human
nature or history would blame the solution for the problem. Recorded history
is a long chain of people exploiting each other and repressing others' innate
drive toward freedom, creativity and the pursuit of happiness. Through this
fog of stupidity, a few wise and lucky people have discovered that the values
of freedom, personal responsibility and democracy allow an escape from the
viscious cycle of exploitation. They realized that centralized, command
decision making leads to totalitarian suppression of any and all that don't
follow the one course that totalitarians demand. (The totalitarians are of
course Kings, emperors, religious rulers, Generals, Fuhrers, and any others
that use violence to force their views on others and that refuse to allow
non-violent competition for leadership positions)

The choice is between freedom and non freedom. One leads to the greatness
(and problems) of western democracies, the other leads to the horror and
poverty of Maoist China, North Korea, the Killing Fields and Afghanistan.
The terrorists hate freedom, and they resent the success that comes with it.
They NEED to destroy it, as it negates their very beliefs.

Unfortunately, it seems that some people in this forum are on the side of
evil and exploitation and about suppressing freedom and dynamic creativity.
This forum is about morals. This forum is about realizing that within the
MOQ, intellect must embrace value, as intellect IS a form of value. The
measure of ideas is the value they create. I find absolute horror and evil
and immorality in some members' views. However, I embrace their right to
express them.

There I go getting worked up again!
