Hi Rog,
I guess you are right.
Maybe i should start living in the real world instead of the world that ought
to be?

Sincere best wishes,
Squonk.

 Hi Squonk!

 S:
Democracy is rule by the people.
Party politics, which is a bastardisation of democracy, silences many
voices
by pandering to the lowest common denominator.
So, in the US this means money.
Money is a social value, and in my view one that is too often usurped by
  biological desires.
I regret the lack of intellect in this system.

 R:
I guess I miss your point. Is there any large scale social organism such as
a government that is not affected by party politics and individual quest for
power, greed, etc? The question has never been whether American or British
democracy was perfect -- neither are close. The question is do they make
the
most of the ingredients available. Ingredients which, imo, include
factionalism and greed as a basic part of human nature.

Our democracies were consciously designed to work DESPITE these limitations.
 That is their beauty.

 Peace,
 Rog
