Dear Jae,

Welcome on this list.
I'll try to read your article www.wedothingswell.com/kabbalah.htm
in the near future.
Funny you refer to the same link,
www.theonion.com/onion3734/god_clarifies_dont_kill.html, I
referred to 19/10 22:39 +0200. How do you square God's commands
as clarified there with your "Israel would have the right to
blast them back to 1967" (4/11 7:46 -0500)?
In my opinion any supposed right to kill anyone is only "moral"
to the extent that it preserves certain (mainly social) static
patterns of values. In my experience Dynamic Quality and God
never legitimize killing.

I don't think you can (should) counter Rasheeds statement of 3/11
16:01 -0500 "that Muslims ARE
peace-loving people" (emphasis added) with a statement about what
Christians and Muslims WERE in history. That doesn't seem to me
good "academic" practice.

I'm looking forward to your contributions in "discussions over
Quality", which you are "more concerned with" than with this kind
of "political debate". You will probably experience in due
course, that "discussions over Quality" are difficult to separate
from "political debate", as abstract discussions need concrete,
everyday examples sometimes and "somehow" examples from political
reality always seem to stand out.

With friendly greetings,

Wim

OK, just by going through a few emails I can already see that
this board is
quite naive when it comes to the conflict in Israel. The US
military for
Israel benefits the US much more than us in Israel and
furthermore the
suppose from US military isn't Israel's sole basis for
military I'm afraid --
far from it. And, in fact, if you were to pick up a
completely unbiassed
history book about Israel (let's say written by a British
citizen that has an
objective view) you would see that there have been many
occasions where the
US has in word supported Israel yet in no other way helped
the Israelis to
fight against her neighboring aggressors. I do feel the
Palestinians have
been treated very unfairly in the past, but if any of you had
been living in
Israel over the last 5 years I promise you that you would see
things from the
Israeli point of view. The Palestinians a little over a year
ago where
offered by our former prime minister, Mr. Ehud Barak, Gaza,
large portions of
the West Bank, and ALL of Jerusalem to found the Palestinian
from. Yassir
Arafat rejected that offer because he had just recently
re-ploclaimed jihad
and could not loose face at the time (when world political
opinion was much
less in Israel's favor). At the time I have just come to
Israel and was
HIGHLY left winged. Having been here for a year and seeing
this development
followed by 13 months of suicide bombings, shootings, and
molitail cocktails
thrown at me when I wanted to try to visit my friends in Arab
settlement,
I've come to have right winged Israeli views, note that I am
an American
citizen and mearly study IT management in Israel.

I'm not saying that Israel always does the moral thing -- far
from it, but I
highly doubt that if everyone on this board was in fact
living in Israel, or
somehow in Israeli government that you would have the same
feelings or that
you would make hardly as good decisions as the Israeli
Government does at
this time. Also, I might as also add that the UN has in fact
violated it's
own laws (in Samalia, I believe it was), that the US hardly
ever keeps to UN
laws (way too many things to site offhand, if someone wants
examples email me
privately and I'll produce a list for you), and that the UN
really should
have no say over Israel at this time anyhow, seeing as how
they've never done
a thing to aid Israel in clearing up this problem that wasn't
sheer
    lip-service.

To be sure the Palestinians have a right to their own bit of
land, possibly
their own nation. However, if they were to once again rise
up against
Israelis, at that point Israel would have the right to blast
them back to
1967, no questions asked. I look forward to everyone
blasting me for my
views with their media slanted prejudices, but before you do
I just want to
assure everyone that I am much more concerned with
discussions over Quality
and that I feel that this discussion board should be more
geared in that
direction than in the area of political debate. If there are
any
Palestinians on the list I would like to privately correspond
with you before
we openly debate on this forum to help assure that all petty
infighting is
kept to a minimum and that Quality is our principle
preoccupation in
discussions herein. Finally, thank you all for having heard
me.

    Jae Angel.
