Bo and Denis,
First, it is worth repeating things already "said," as
much as the archives are valuable. Communication is
not clean so thanks for bearing with me.
Thanks for the Berkeley clarification, I now
understand your more precise definition of "construct
of mind." I was taking it in a more general sense,
thus my attribution to Descartes. Wittgenstein though
would predate Pirsig. His banner quote "Don't think
look" would almost directly correspond to "kill
intellectual patterns and follow DQ."
I did slip and mentioned "soul." Are there archives on
soul and Pirsig?
Ok, you've got me straight with your ideas. Bo
proposes a new static level and Denis proposes a new
Quality level besides DQ. I am confused about your
proposed new level. I don't understand when you saythe
current intellectual level is the mind/matter DIVIDE.
What does that mean? Why the DIVIDE? And what is
Denis' proposed new Quality? Why do we need it? I
don't see the need for a new "level" whether dynamic
or static. Why is there a need? Please clarify.
