Hi Dennis,
I will not say a great deal here.
But i would like to say this:
1. Dynamic Quality = Quality (with a capital Q)
2. Berkeley said he did not wish to change things into ideas, but rather
ideas into things.
We can paraphrase this and say that Pirsig does not wish to change things
into patterns of quality, but rather patterns of quality into things.
Patterns of quality are real.
They are more real than other descriptions of reality because we have
immediate awareness of them, and we are the patterns themselves.
Quality generates the patterns but cannot be known, for knowing implies
containment whereas knowing really means interpretation.
All the best,
Squonk.
