-Actually Squonk, if YOU would read more carefully you would see that my
post said absolutely nothing about yours at all. I simply pointed to an 'on
topic' quote from Pirsig that not everyone may be aware of since it's not in
one of the books. I would be very interested to hear you explain how this

I have given this time matter a great deal of unforced pondering; kind of
just letting things coalesce when and how they will, and i do feel that there
is a wonderful utility in thinking of time as DQ.
The concept of time is another thing altogether, and i would point you
towards:
Real time II
by D.H. Mellor.
Routledge.
1998.
In this book, Mellor suggests that time is the causal dimension of space-time.
Now then folks, if cause is replaced by value in the MOQ, then it is but a
short step to say that space changes in accordance with value, and that
suggests to me that DQ is the source of space-time. (Sapce-value?)
i.e. dimension is a static pattern extruded from value - that is to say, DQ.
This would suggest that time is not the first static pattern experience
produces, but space is.
What we think of as time are the changes in space (space being the most
fundamental inorganic pattern there is)? and this is putting the cart after
the horse as it is conceptual. The real changes in space are generated by DQ.
We then look back and 'feel' the flow of time which is a real pig to try and
define!
DQ = time.
So, time is not a property of subjects or objects, but generates them in the
first place.
I hope this makes the notion of time in a certain sense being a synonym for
Quality a little less silly?
Other wise, i should have to seriously consider just leaving all this stuff
well alone!
