i think i get it now.
recognising any pattern is an act of Mind or consciousness - a snapshot
that comes in the wake of DQ.
recognising a pattern requires a pattern and recogniser? no this is wrong.
recognising a pattern requires DQ (source of experience) and sq
(recogniser), hence quality event.
since every sq pattern is actually an analogue of those before it, and can
have no independent existence outside DQ, ultimately there is only DQ.
however there is something to be said re: aesthetic/spiritual or drug
induced experience, for these can be moments where time and space and
differentiation (ie all static patterns) are lost in one snesation of
wholeness. i have a book called 'lsd, man and society' filled with
psychiatric case studies - in the US in the 50s and 60s - that describes
this in detail.
perhaps these are 'extended glimpses' of DQ?
