Dear Andrea,

I AM interested in clarifying the levels (and specifically in
distinguishing social and intellectual), but I also recognize
that equating social and unconscious presents problems.
Maybe the distinction Wilber makes in his work between
pre-rational consciousness and transpersonal consciousness covers
part of the problems. I would only associate (not equate) the
(relatively, not absolutely) lower consciousness of Wilber's
earlier stages with social patterns of value (with copying
behavior without consciously motivating or legitimizing it, just
'because' it is a 'status thing' to do 'so' and not 'otherwise').
Intellect/rational consciousness/ego-consciousness creates (!)
another type of unconsciousness: the domain of our spiritual
'self'/that what 'we really are'/'are meant to be', beyond our
'ego'. The domain also of the 'patterns to be', of Dynamic
Quality toward which all static patterns of value migrate.

With friendly greetings,

Wim
