Hi!, I am tempted to say there is no difference between insanity and genius,
it is only that one is accepted by society, called genius and is lauded, and
the other is unacceptable, called insanity and is castigated.

I assume that by participation, you mean the participation of society, and
the values current in that society.

But I must counter this by saying, some insanity, is not a disagreement of
values between society and an individual, and instead is the result of a
severe imbalance in brain function.

Genius again has many meanings, IQ over 140 you're a genius ( just so you
know the last time I did an IQ test mine was 155. But I'm no genius)

For me true genius is that which serves society by giving it the impetus to
move forward ( not a physical direction I would like to add ).

And this means that genius is not necessarily related to intellect.
