ERIN:
We are not to blame for our prosperous situation but neither are
those in the axis of evil!!!! Just think if you were brought up in that
situation you have a high probability of becoming a terrorist. Is it really
fair to blame somebody for the situation they were raised in?
RISKY:
I am quite convinced that there are few things as disfunctional as not
holding people accountable for their actions. Certainly a guaranteed recipe
for social disaster. I know of no successful societies that took this course.
Why would you suggest it?
E:
Bill is not putting the rich as the evil ones he is just doing a comparison
ratio of what somebody consumes; what somebody has/ what they give. I think
it
is admirable to see the "evil" of your own behavior then point the finger at
the other side.
R:
As I keep repeating, he did no such thing. He snookered people with
marginally dishonest use of statistics. IF we give more than anybody else to
total aid, then would you see us as evil or as good? What IF most of our aid
actually went to propping up dictators and bureaucrats and exploiting people?
What if the net result was that aid allowed countries to avoid tough
decisions? Then would we be good or evil? Shouldn't you answer a few
questions first before jumping to conclusions?
Charity isn't good because it makes you feel superior, it is only good based
upon the actual results of the aid. That is the investigation that should be
pursued.
