tiny minority of world population whereas the battle between intellectual
level and social level (my interpretation: between high quality intellectual
patterns of values and low quality intellectual patterns of values about how
to direct social progress) which you want to talk about has much more social
relevance.
I wrote to Rog 4/4 23:00 +0200:

In order to prevent social patterns of values to create an awful mess (with
ABC-weapons or otherwise), they need to be directed by higher quality
intellectual patterns of values than we have generally available now. So we
urgently need intellectual progress. I think it IS the reality which John B.
is talking about, the possible appearance of even higher (than intellectual)
level patterns of values, that can 'turbo-charge' (a concept coined by Rog
24/3 8:41 -0500) intellectual progress enough to prevent this awful mess.
What we need is practical mysticism (or applied art, if you'd rather bet on
art rather than religion as a most likely platform for the jump toward DQ
that will latch on a new level of values) to guide intellectual progress.
