This Us vs. Them type of thinking IS the problem and will never lead to a
solution. Some may be dismayed that George Bush reluctantly has changed his
message but athough the people of Israel can't seem to see it, it is in fact
in their best interests. Sorry Jonathan, the occupation will only lead to
more desperation and death, the anger you have is fealt on the other side of
the border as well, the more loved ones that are lost, the more fuel to the
flames of hatred which increases the support for the warriors on either
side. The military on one side or the underground resistance movement on the
other. If the only way to live in dignity is to die by suicide, the
biological life sacrificed for the social Giant, it will happen. It can get
worse, much worse. The only thing holding people back is the hope that it is
not necessary, once it becomes evident that peace is impossible, I can't
imagine the death toll. It's not worth it.

Along with Platt, I want to assure you that despite the massive wave of
anti-Israel opinion in Europe, the Middle east, the American media and this
forum, that Israel still has the support of the American people. Most
Americans see that you are the victims of heinous terrorists that both
target
and hide behind civilians. Furthermore, we see that Israel represents
liberal
democracy and freedom and that it uses its overwhelming superiority in a
judicious way.
The antisemitism in Europe and much of the world disgusts and frightens me.
How we (meaning humanity) cannot have learned from the horrors of the Nazis
is beyond my comprehension. The important thing is for those of us that do
see the pattern repeating to stand firmly against the terror. Do not lower
your defenses. They will destroy you (or watch you be destroyed) if you let
them.
