Elliot:
I dissagree somewhat actually. The static pattern of addition is a
definition, it is a relationship between things that we have set up. While
it does have limitless possibilities within itself, it has also limited
other relationships that were beyond it. A clear example of this is that
how all of the set relationships of mathematics have helped us understand
the wrold in much detail, but the part of infinity that does not fit into
these relationships is excluded (IE: love). So, even though there are
infinite possibilities inside the relationship, there is also infinity
OUTSIDE the static relationship. I agree that the MoQ is like addition in
that it is a static relationship with infinite and unlimited possibilities,
however, like addition, it is itself limited despite its "infinite volume".
It is a very broad and very useful static relationship, the broadest i have
ever seen, incorporating many of the "tastes" of the world (whereas
addition may include only one), however, exsistance inside of its limits
maybe excluding some of the tastes that transend it.
Glen replies:
Personally, I like cage fighting with wild rabid animals but if you have
the time being shot out of a cannon into a huge block of lime Jell-O is
also very effective if more fattening. :|
Elliot,
They now make wonderful low calorie jell-o.
Glen replies:
Perhaps you should be trying to implement something (although perhaps not
Castaneda's path)? I think seeking dynamic experiences brings a lot of joy
to life. Our world has some quite exciting and interesting possibilities.
Meditation is great if that's your thing, but there are many paths to the
top of the mountain.
Elliot:
I meant that immitating anothers path was not for me, but as for exploring
the world in all its glory, i can assure you im on top of that. I'd be
quite a hippocrite to talk about all this mysticism and stepping outside
language if i wasnt fiercly in pursuit of it myself. Although, as i am
still young and havent gotten very far, most of what i say is speculation
(estimating the terrain of the peak from the base one might say). I think
that i see that the only Truth is one that holds all else true along side
it, but as towhat i really mean by that i do not know. But all truths
(including the MoQ) are like waves on a sea stirred by a wind, but it is
not the peaks and troughs that matter but the sea itself, and its single
taste of salt. (buddhist metaphor for the One Mind and how ignorance stirs
it.)
Meditiation sounds good but is difficult, and i tend to think meitation can
be practiced without sitting quietly (but ill give the "just sitting" some
more attention when its quality strikes me)
Life is long, but the path i guess maybe longer.
thanks for your time,
Elliot
