As for Netanyahu's opinion, I too suspect or fear this could be the case.
However, if a separate state attacks you or harbors those that terrorize you,
the appropriate response is to retaliate decisively. Israel would have the
clear moral highground though, as Palestinians are now self-ruled with their
own land. It would be obvious that Palestinian violence was not for freedom,
but solely for destruction and hate. Furthermore, Israel's massive
counterstrike would be destructive to Palestinian owned and built homes,
businesses, farms, infrastructure etc.
In summary, with a separate state the parties of hate cannot disguise
themselves as freedom lovers. The reasonable forces in Palestine can clearly
see what they have to gain and lose and can make a decision if they want to
improve their lot and part ways with those that hate, or if they want to
align with the violence and pay the consequences (which will be very steep).
I believe the clarity of the situation will improve with two states, and that
the two will eventually learn to co-exist. And, if they don't, or if there
is not a sufficiently powerful moral contingent in Palestine, then the
Israelis (and the world) can at least say they tried everything before
sending the entire bunch off to Jordan.
Now, I certainly hope the Palestinians DO control themselves and act
civilized (the same goes for the Israelis btw). Certainly you would agree
they deserve a chance to prove themselves -- no? But, even if they don't
behave, the crisis can now be resolved justly -- which can't be said today.

PS -- I would also suggest starting with only giving Palestinians a large
part of the West Bank, and make the additional lands contingent piecemeal
upon sustained peace and restraint of terrorism. I would lay out concrete
timelines and again make it clear what they have to LOSE.
PPS -- Just to be fair, if the Israelis are the ones that misbehave, then the
world would need to protect the Palestinians and penalize Israel.
