Hi Squonk
Squonk:I was thinking of Plotinus when i felt romantic quality to be prior to
>Classic quality.
>Its the unity of the Romantic that reminds me of the Plotinian realm of
>a-temporal, non-spatial translucent forms where each idea is transparent to
>all others in a unified 'known and knower' as one entity.
>In this way we may avoid duality and think in terms of diminution of that
>which is more unified to that which is less unified?
>
Erin: I still see that unified/not unified as ultimately a duality even when
it is described as a continuum. I see how your schematic is non-spatial but I
am not quite yet seeing the a-temporal part of it yet.
It just seemed that your schematic was a vertical/temporal duality and the
original was a horizontal/spatial duality. I don't think I quite grasped the
marble analogy--I will think about it some more and see if I grasp the idea
better
