Exactly. Its a source of great confusion in the discussions here. In the
objective realm, its easy to see the difference between rocks and trees,
between inorganic and organic reality. But in the subjective realm, which
SOM views as less than real, its much harder to see the difference between
the social and intellectual levels. To SOM its all the same. Its all just
thoughts. Even if some of them get more respect than others, there is no
clear distinctions to be made in a world where only substantial objects are
really real, where mysticism and insanity are the same thing.
Briefly, for anyone who might be interested. The scientific revolution and
the Age of the discovery directly led to the enlightenment period. Roughly
speaking, the scientific revolution is put from 1550-1700 and the
enlightenment goes from 1600 to 1790. (Kant's Critique of Pure Reason (1784)
sort of killed it.) This was followed directly by the age of revolution,
which lasted, lets say, from 1776 to 1915.
