elliot:
Well, i think everyone should read castaneda (perhaps in 1,000 years they
will be considered like the bible, as will lila be). Ones interest in
mysticism would most likely enhance what one gets out of the book. Better
understanding comes some time after reading the books i believe, they stay
with you and grow inside you as you learn more about the world.
There are many many books, the first being the lessons of Don Juan i
believe. the first two deal mostly with peyote, datura and mushrooms. The
third book (journey to ixlan) is very good, as is the fourth. I suggest
reading them in order, dont scan looking for information about dreaming, and
after you get past the fourth if you so chose to go that far, i believe
there is a book called the art of dreaming but i havent read it.
Good luck,
elliot
