That's true, I didn't show any examples of science itself recognizing social
values. The reason I mentioned examples of scientists (who study physical
science) or engineers acting in the interest of humanity is to counter the
MOQ's implication that such people are so steeped in "amoral scientific
objectivity" in their jobs that it rubs off in their social life, where
they become apathetic about distinctions between good and bad or right
and wrong. That this happens is highly debatable.

As for providing examples of science recognizing social values, you'd have to
look into the social sciences, and I'm sure you'd have no trouble finding
them there, Boaz aside.
