Dear Sriram,
I fully agree with your 9/6 23:04 -0700 plea for modification of SOLAQI into
'SOL as the dominant intellectual pattern for describing and understanding
reality'.
Just a few additions:
You wrote:
'before the "discovery" of the MOQ, there was no "SOM", there was just
reality. The MOQ creates the SOM as a constrasting pattern and improves and
expands upon it.'
Maybe before the MoQ there was SOM, but only named differently: modernity
contrasted against pre-modernity. In my 9/3 0:38 +0200 posting addressed to
Bo I postulated 'multiple subject thinking/feeling/intuiting/sensing' as the
dominant intellectual pattern of values before SOM or 'subject object
thinking'.
You wrote:
'The MOQ violates the SOM. It therefore must be removed from the
intellectual level just as one who commits murder or violates other social
moral laws must be removed from society and put into prison.'
Removing someone from society does not imply removal from the social level:
there are competing societies. Likewise declaring someone insane from the
point of view of the dominant intellectual pattern of values (SOM) doesn't
imply removal from the intellectual level. To the extent that competing
intellectual patterns of values are available for the person involved
(pre-modern ones, the MoQ, maybe mysticism), he/she may be perfectly sane
from the point of view of those other intellectual patterns of values.
This supports your plea for an understanding of subject object logic as the
dominant intellectual pattern of values.
With friendly greetings,
Wim
