To All:
For a number of years scientific studies at Princeton have shown that
the human mind can influence REG machines built to perform a random
electronic toss of the coin so that we can "will" the machine to produce
more heads, say, than tails.
Robert Jahn, the nuclear physicist in charge of the studies, thinks that
maybe there's a connection between the subconscious and the
subphysical, meaning (I presume) the quantum world. But how this
might account for the experimental results is still a mystery.
Students of the MOQ would suggest the experiments demonstrate the
war between biological and inorganic levels. Since life requires a degree
of certainty to survive, it must have power to dominate the probability
patterns of the inorganic level.
An experiment could be devised to test the MOQ theory. In addition to
merely "willing" the change in randomness, another group could be
instructed to think it would be better for everyone, including the
machine, if it produced certain results. Results from the “will group” and
the “betterness group” could then be compared to see if there was any
significant difference.
Other types of experiments could be devised to test the MOQ thesis,
but someone a lot smarter than me will have to think what they might
be. I believe Bo had one idea in connection with the Libet experiments
that show we subconsciously know what to do before we consciously
know it.
So suggestions welcome, especially from participants who champion
the scientific worldview.
