Hi Isaac,
Well, why don't we all just get along?
We could say, 'Why should we get along?'
And i would say, because getting along is more aesthetically valuable.
One cannot define beauty and no wonder: beauty defines us.
Mr. Mathematician enjoys the same sense of beauty as the artist or the
sportsperson; they all have an intuitive feeling or understanding, which does
not HAVE to be defined, that the source of their Art is not of their
possession. These folks are possessed, and deivine madness or being touched
by the great One is a well documented and transcultural experience.
Fear and distrust destroy the beauty of social harmony and proportion.
If we wish to model a beautiful society then we are going to have to begin
teaching our kids how to find beauty and teach them a little less about how
to behave as removed spectators from the real world of values?
All the best,
Squonk.
