Well said, actually. Quite right. Irrationality is definitey just a
pejorative.
Rationality (and its synonym, Reason) is a very ambiguous term. Often it's
meant as "objective" or analytical. And no, of course, rationality
(whatever it is) is a high-quality activity, especially keeping those things
in mind which you've mentioned.
Pirsig did talk about trying to fix Reason (rationality), though, so in some
sense, looking at the prerational, rational, and postrational might be
useful.
