The spite, yes, but not hopelessness. I didn't say that I would never vote,
just that I wouldn't vote if it came down to Gore and Bush again. Perhaps
'waste' was too strong a word, but I was just trying to be realistic. I
actually liked Nader (even represented him in a mock debate two years ago and
got 10% of my school's vote), but even he knew he wasn't going to get
anywhere. That led to his propositions of radical ideas such as worldwide
nuclear disarmament and increased hemp cultivation (which many people,
stoners or not, misconstrued as a legalization of marijuana). It's been two
parties throughout the history of America, do you think there's any way to
reform that? That's not a sarcastic or rhetorical question, I really want to
know.
