Erin:
I don't recall calling Bush evil. I questioned his intelligence.
I don't think this 'Axis of Evil' is moral clarity.
I always thought it was a dangerous oversimplification.
I find your implication that America is evil also
a dangerous oversimplification.
I don't agree with everything my government is
doing. All I can do is express support what I do agree with (ex. I hope
Powell's influence outweights Rumsfeld and Cheney right now)

AGAIN WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO?
(other then reflect on the good of the Dutch and
lose sleep over the evil of America)

Paco failed in making feel guilty about questioning
Bush's intelligence and i warn you that i highly doubt
you will make me admit guilt for America as a whole.
You can go ahead and try though if you want.

I am glad that you have such pride in the Dutch but
I find this 'Dutch is good' and 'America is bad'
about as stupid as the 'Axis of Evil'.
But I am sure it 'moral clarity' by some.

Kevin:
My comments are not directly at you personally or based on your
assertion of Bush's stupidity. I'm just trying to move the conversation
towards something that could be more important than Bush's IQ.

I'm also not saying I think America is evil or stupid. I'm asking
everyone that wants to question the intelligence or ability or
righteousness of Bush to ask themselves what their position means about
the state of American Democracy.

If Bush is stupid and/or evil, what does that say about the country and
it's electorate? I suppose I could have offered the same question but
suggested Bush was a genius, but I suppose that answer is less
interesting because it would mean that All's Well. "Fords in his
flivver....."

It also has nothing to do with guilt. I'm not even offering the answer
to the question, simply asking. I think the answers might be
interesting.

Maybe Bush is stupid and/or evil and it means absolutely nothing about
America as a whole?

Does it help the conversation if I admit that I personally think Bush is
a terrible simpleton in the hands of influential and unscrupulous
handlers? Perhaps even more frightening is that I think Bush is utterly
sincere in his Crusade against "evildoers".
