I was afraid of that. Early in Lila, Pirsig seemed to say
that it does, but I couldn't see how.

I disagree, the MOQ is very helpful for some(maybe more) moral issues, if
you could not see how you have to re-read Lila.
But to give an example the politcal situation in one the axis of evil
countries, if I all understood it properly both MOQ and political situation
in Iran, Iran is fascinating where the discussion is whether the country
should maintain it's theocratic(thus socially driven)government or give more
power to the elected(intellect driven)leader of the country. Though the
shared fundamentals of both choices are social(as the laws are still based
on religional principles), giving more power to an elected reformer is in
MOQ terms more moral then giving more power to the other 'enforced' party. I
am very curious what is going to happen in the near future, despite US
threats I think big reforms are going to take place in the next 5 to 10
years. It is sad that GWB is not an MOQ'er, maybe he would have understood
it then.
