Paco,

Just a word of temptation for you. You mentioned liking John Dewey,
particularly his view about truth. Well, Rorty considers himself the
heir-apparent of Deweyan pragmatism. He pcitures himself as, following the
Deweyan idea that we must update our theories for contemporary times,
updating Dewey for a changed intellectual climate.

Of course, I won't kid you. Some Dewey scholars don't agree with Rorty's
interpretation of him. I add these thoughts just in case it would intrigue
you. And, naturally, I add them to counter some of the facile claims about
Rorty (that he views truth as "infinitely malleable"). A lot of things one
would like about Dewey, one would probably like about Rorty.
