Hi Matt,
Syncretism may be usefully described as an evolution of static patterns.
I do not wish to argue about that for if you are happy with the notion of
evolution, then we agree?
I feel the b'lend of discourse Wilber and John B pursue to be a generation of
noise that is wiping out signal; it is valuable in the sense that it
generates noise for noises sake.
These people spend more time talking about everything but Pirsig's work, and
they do so because it has been established as fashionable and impressive to
do so.
That fashion was largely instigated by one who, when speaking with his own
voice gladdened the heart and illuminated vision. However, it can be
difficult for the artist to see when it is an appropriate moment to finish
the work? That moment is a delicate flower, and if over exposed to life
giving rays soon becomes sickly and pungent, not with fragrance but with
death?
Art Matt.
Know when to stop.
All the best,
Squonk.
