But I wonder why you bothered to mention the distinction, Matt. Are
you offended or surprized by Rorty's political views? Do you disagree with
his politics even as you agree with his philosophical ideas? (I posted it to
provide and example of a liberal intellectual, but I'm also aware that
Rorty, for reasons I don't know, is something of a darling among those who
are moderately right-wing.) I ask these questions not to pose a challenge,
but because I'm curious about your motives.
