Thanks for responding to my question, Troy, you wrote:
the only way to shed our SOM armor is to go insane and let go of "it all"
for a little while, not thinking at all of "avoiding" anything.
Thank you for confirming what I was trying to allude to. Namely, that its virtually impossible to think without an SOM perspective. I think this is because of the way language is constructed by the brain. It may be part of the way the brain perceives reality, so it may be inescapable.
You also said:
let's not turn with our tails down and run from SOM. like all static
patterns, SOM has value
I agree wholeheartedly and that is one of the tenets of Lila. We need the stability of the static patterns as much as the change in Dynamic Quality.
you also added:
we do not have to invent and understand a new
language. we do not have to avoid SOM like some nasty disease. increased
awareness through the eyeglasses of MoQ is enough to "take us" beyond SOM.
I like that view. What Lila did for me was to shift my reality not obliterate it. if it had, I would have gone insane, as you said. However, I was able to see the world in another manner which I had never imagined possible. That is what attracts me to Pirsig's MOQ. It is unique, fascinating, and makes sense.
