Subject: MD relativity and Dynamic Quality

hi, glove:

you responded to my query regarding time and gravity:

>Einstein said: "Using hyperlight velocities we could telegraph into the
>past." (Quoted by Sommerfeld from discussions)

i found this:

According to Einstein, gravity, when strong, slows time and bends space. In
1919 astronomers found that the tremendous mass of the sun curves space just
enough to slow light traveling through it.

i say:

in a perfectly uniform universe--one containing no matter--time would
vibrate so fast that it would be timeless. it is only in a physical
universe that time occurs linearly. outside of matter it is non-linear. (i
say outside since it is a dimension in this reality but who knows where it
really is!)

you added:

relativity told Einstein that as
>the rod grew in length, a gap must occur between the time of the impulse at
>A and the reaction at B, but this is not the case in a rigid rod. there
>seemed to be an inherent instantaneous-ness within the rod that defied
>relativity's constant, or the speed of light as the limit of speed in our
>universe, that Einstein could not explain

i found this too:

In Einstein's theory, gravity is not a force that acts between objects but a
property of space itself, which includes the fourth dimension, Time.
Matter warps--or curves--"spacetime", causing what we experience as gravity.

then you concluded with:

>we could say that time is enfolded
>in Dynamic Quality like a rock is enfolded by the waves when dropped into a
>still pond. but thats not really right either.
>

i like the idea of time being enfolded. i think it captures the elusiveness
of the concept as it occurs outside of our three-dimensional universe.
