Horse, Ken, Squad,
I wrote: "I think that Contributive SQ is what we talk about from the human-perspective, and Formative DQ is what we talk about in the more over-all perspective" in my last posting.
Excuse me for my typo, of course I meant Contributive DQ.
This distinction in different forms of DQ can be compared to the distinction Ken makes, writing:
"The thing that seems clear to me is that Universal Quality and Quality as
applied to the concerns of humanity are two completely different things. We
can speak of universal (inorganic) Quality and see the beauty of the
Universe as it has evolved. If we disregard humanity we can project the
operation of inorganic Quality right through to either the big crunch or to
the big blah of ultimate entropy. This is the Quality generated universe
that was established and set in motion at the time of the Big Bang and in
which Quality must still be operating. This Dynamic Quality was undisturbed
by life up until the time of the development of sentience."
I agree with Ken that the 'human experienced DQ' is different from the 'Universal Quality', but I don't think they are completely different (as Ken states). The question is, if they're somehow related, what is the connection?
To get some insight in this matter, last weekend I tried this interesting thought-experiment:
Lets say the universe after the BB is evolving towards higher order S-patterns (I prefer the word order to compexity, because a higher order can be less complex or even simple, compared to a lower order). Lets also say this is related to the explanation of life as a 'migration of static patterns towards Dynamic Quality' and this also accounts for a Moral-order.
What would happen if this direction reversed, the universe 'imploded' (sorry for this word) and the direction changed to a decrease in disorder or entropy with time???
Would evolution reverse, favouring less stabile static-patterns? If humans could still exist, would it in that world be more moral to be a-intellectual, a-social and in the end kill as many suckers(eeh static patterns) as you see?
Walter.
