I think the short answer is meglomania. Apparently the MoM is such a hot
property that it has to be protected by copyright. The Meaning of the Bargain with
God is a great story and provides a good read but has little to do with the MoQ as
is the case with the MoM. But Fintan has declared the MoQ to be crap and
suggests we should all discuss this instead. By the way, does your reproduction
of Fintans work come under the general heading of R & D? No? Oh Dear!

It's the same as it always was. In the unlikely circumstance that I should feel like
reproducing or criticizing Fintans work (or anyone elses for that matter) then I will.
As far as I'm aware no-one who has published anything on this site has done so
for any other reason than that they wish others to share in their insights,
knowledge and pleasure. I would also think it reasonable that if anyone feels
differently they should withdraw their work immediately.

The MoQ site and and the mailing list are PUBLIC forums for the discussion and
exploration of the MOQ. But Fintan has also declared that the intellectual level is
subservient to the social level, so anything of intellectual value must be subsumed
by the social for the greater good of the masses. Which probably means Fintan.
It's also been noted by Richard Budd that:
"Fintan needs us a hell of a lot more than we need Fintan. After all, only the LS
or others well versed in RMP could possibly "understand" Fintan's rantings
(though I'm not sure many of do anyway). If Fintan stopped sending us these
theories, who would Fintan send them to??? Nobody! "
Which was in response to my suggestion that Fintan should consider retiring from
the Squad if he is not prepared to respect the Squads aims - that of examining
the MoQ.
I'm not sure who else speaks for freedom - certainly not Fintan with his
completely unnecessary copyright notices - but we can all speak freely here
without fear of lawyers and lawsuits.
The MORAL right to intellectual freedom empowers me to reproduce ANY written
work, at ANY time for ANY non-profitmaking purpose, as long as I don't try to
pass it off as my own - which in the case of the MoM is not just unlikely but
closer to laughable.

It was as simple as that!"
