Considering the cavalier attitude that a number of contributors to this forum display
towards the Charter and Rules I think it would be a pointless exercise and a waste of
time to try and formulate such a rule. I agree completely with your sentiments but short
of making moq_discuss a moderated list, enforcing such a rule would be impossible.
Point two of the Charter should prevent this but inflammatory and intelletually
dishonest posts will continue where those involved wish to distort what others say for
their own purposes and all the rules in the world can't prevent fools from being fools.
Probably the best thing to do is to hit the delete button and let the intellectually
dishonest continue in their own self-deception. Alternatively, when someone wishes to
become involved in constructive debate and question or challenge anothers view they
should provide the original quotation to which they are referring. But as you point out
those that participate in this practice are also lazy so will presumably be too lazy to
produce those parts of the post they are distorting.
