Lithien,

You write:
who would be doing the observing at the non-sentient level? and
would it be observing as we know it? or perhaps a sensing of some sort not
necessarily our definition of "observing" with our eyes, right?

Clark writes:
Lithien- If we look at the history of the universe right from the
beginning we start with hydrogen and helium, form stars and produce other
elements up through iron with the energy available from the thermonuclear
process, and so on. with these thoughts in mind we can see that myriads of
Quality Events must have taken place during this period even though there
was no "intelligence" available to observe them. Uncountable billions of
value patterns must have engaged in Quality Events and produced observable
results. We believe this to be true because a history of the evolution of
the inorganic universe has been built up which makes sense to us and which
we accept. The only answer I have to your question is that the
"observation" can be assumed to have taken place because the results of
these Quality Events produced results which contributed to the further
evolutionary pathway of the inorganic universe. Without this "observation"
we would not have the universe as we know it today. I think probably the
best answer is your sensing idea. If two value patterns engaged in a
Quality Event and produced a result that was compatible with the output of
a nearby Quality Event that would satisfy my definition of "Observation".
at the non-sentient level. Sorry I can't give you as more concise
definition. Sometimes words are inadequate. Ken
